| ITFNZ Taekwon-Do South Island
Incorporated (the Region) is an Incorporated Society under
the Incorporated Societies Act 1908. The Region is the Official
Regional Governing Body for the International
Taekwon-Do Foundation of New Zealand Incorporated (ITFNZ)
in the South Island. |

Herbison, IV Dan |
Mr Herbison has been the Regional Director since 2002 and
was also a past CEO of ITFNZ as well as a member of almost
every committee and was instrumental in the formation of the
new ITFNZ and South Island Boards. Mr Herbison began training
in 1995 and trained hard and moved up the grades and gained
his I dan in 1997 and his IV dan in 2005 with an A pass. Mr
Herbison opened the Otago University Club which won the ITFNZ
Taekwon-Do Best Club award in 2003 and Mr Herbison also ran
the 2003 National Championships and numerious other tournaments,
camps and seminars and is well known for his ability to source
funding and sponsorship for events and equipment. Mr Herbison
is a presently an assistant instructor at the Riccarton Club
and is a Director for the ITF Taekwon-Do World Championships
2011 to be held in Wellington. Mr Herbison works as a Chartered
Accountant at Ernst & Young. |

Craig Evans, III dan |
Mr Evans has been training in Taekwon-Do for
many years, starting with his brother Mr Grant Evans, and
is a past President of the Dunedin Taekwon-Do Club. Mr Evans
currently trains at the Mosgiel Club and his two children
also train at the Mosgiel and Threhold Clubs. |

Lyn Richardson |
Lyn Richardson is a past member of Riccarton Taekwon-Do.
She applied for the board because she feels that Taekwon-Do
has a lot to offer members through the tenets and its values
and would like to help us grow. Lyn is a Chartered Accountant
currently working with the Ministry of Health as a Senior
Project Manager, and a member of the Project Management Institute.
She has experience in several other non-profit organisations
and is close to completing her Masters of Public Management
and so brings strong strategic planning and implementation
skills to the Board. |

John Hadjis |
John Hadjis is the father of three younger members of Riccarton
Taekwon-Do. He applied for the board because of the positive
influence that he sees Taekwon-Do having on his children.
John is a manager with General Cable New Zealand Ltd where
he has strong experience in customer services, and business
structure development and implementation, and has qualifications
in business and project management. |

The position of Regional Director is currently vacant,
and the responsibilities of the role are being handled by
Helen Caley. Expressions of interest in this position should
be forwarded to the secretary. |

Miss Helen Caley is a member of Riccarton Taekwon-Do and
is a top tournament competitor for the Region, which she demonstrated
when she won a gold medal at the 2008 ITF World Cup in Italy
for individual patterns. |

Mr Kris Herbison has been a member of the ITFNZ Tournaments
committee for many years and is the only currenly qualified
ITF A Grade Umpire and ITFNZ A Grade Umpire in the Region.
Mr Herbison is responsible for overseeing the running of tournaments
in the Region and the standard of officals. Mr Herbison regurally
officiates at the ITFNZ National Championships, and also was
an official at the World Cup in Italy in 2008. |

Mr Evans is a former South Island Regional Director, Mr
Evans has been an active and passionate motivating force in
the South for as long as anyone can remember.Mr Evans is also
well known for his impressive pass with distinction to III
dan, among only a small few to do so in the country. |

My Mayes will be assisting Mr Evans with his duties as Mr

Mrs Colee started training at Riccarton Taekwon Do Club
under Mr Peter Lawless, got to I dan within 3 years. She instructed
her own club at Richmond until retired and then in August
2008 got asked to take over Nelson Club to assist with instructing. |

Mrs Lorraine Eade is a very active member of the Region
and always supports events of the Region and ITFNZ and all
members of ITFNZ and the Region. |

David Oliver, II dan |
Mr David Oliver commenced training at age 38 in 1994. Mr
Oliver took over the responsibility as instructor of the Riccarton
Club and has run the club since 2000. He gains a great thrill
from seeing his students attain their goals which he asks
all students to set as part of their on-going training, and
the Riccarton Club is one of the largest in the Country. |

Miss Ana Rakonjac is currently studying for her PhD at
the University of Otago in Physics. |

Neil Kettings, III dan |
Mr Neil Kettings started training with South Pacific TKD
at the start of 1996. He then joined ITFNZ in 1998 and stepped
into the role of Instructor in 2001. This is the position
he still holds in the club today and his biggest ambition
is to have his own do-jang. |

Teresa Allen, II dan |
Mrs Allen had never seen herself as a martial artist, becoming
one almost by accident. She joined Taekwon-Do in 1997 after
her two children & husband had. Within months she found
she was pregnant with her third child - but this didn't stop
her training, although she did have to forgo some activities.
Baby, Jake, was born the day after the Southern Regional Tournament
of 1998 at which she took a limited part. She gained her 1st
Dan in Dec 2000 with her husband and we took over as instructors
of Mosgiel Club. Mrs Allen gained her 2nd Dan in Nov 2003
and subsequently took over as instructor and trains with her
son Jake. As a Taekwon-Do practitioner she would like to pass
on Taekwon-Do to others and see them gain skill and confidence
as she has. She says 'joining as I did in my mid thirties
I feel that any-one can benefit no matter their age or beginning
ability' |

Nigel Patterson, I dan |
Mr Patterson started training at the Dunedin club in 2000,
graded to first dan in 2004, moved to Alexandra in 2005 and
started the central Taekwon-Do club. |

| Threshold
Hayden Breese, IV dan |
Hayden Breese began training at Mosgiel Taekwon-Do club
in 1991. Hayden is a former ITFNZ marketing Director and best
overall black belt. Today he is the instructor of Threshold
Taekwon-Do in Dunedin. Threshold holds adult and children's
classes 5 days a week and is one of the largest schools in
New Zealand. |
